Cullman Education

Cullman area residents recognize the foundation of their future is in the education of students today. Cullman City and County schools are committed to the education and development of its students in order to prepare them for the future. Two church-affiliated private schools (Sacred Heart and St. Paul’s Lutheran), and a college prep high school (St. Bernard Prep) are also available.

Cullman City Schools are consistently ranked among the best in the state. The school district also houses the Cullman City Head Start Program aimed at preparing young children for success in their future educational endeavors. The Cullman County school system has a dual enrollment program with Wallace State Community College where students can earn both high school and college credit for the same class.

The Cullman Area Career Center offers students courses to meet the changing needs of business and industry. Wallace State Community College, located in the county in Hanceville, also serves the Cullman area. An accredited community college, WSSC is the first in the state to establish a University Center partnership with Athens State University offering junior and senior level classes leading to a baccalaureate degree on campus.
