Founded in 1905, Medical Center Enterprise (MCE) began as a 10-bed hospital staffed by one physician. Today, Medical Center Enterprise is a modern, 131-bed, progressive, acute-care facility staffed by a team of more than 450, partnering with nearly 100 independent physicians.
As Enterprise has grown, so has Medical Center Enterprise with renovation projects such as the addition of 29 private patient rooms on the hospital’s fourth floor, installation of a state-of-the-art GE HDX 1.5 Tesla magnet MRI (giving MCE breast MRI capability), and the recent addition of a Philips Ingenuity 64-slice Cat Scan machine providing low dose, high quality imaging for the patient. MCE is the only Designated Lung Cancer Screening Center in the Wiregrass. Medical Center Enterprise also constructed a $5.2 million addition, adding on a two-story building called the MCE Women’s Center just for mothers and their new babies. The private wing has an entire first floor waiting area, and the second floor houses five labor and delivery rooms and 13 private postpartum rooms. A four room Sleep Center is located on the third floor, offering patients a two part sleep study with all of the comforts of home. These are just a few of the improvements made, with patient care and safety in mind. Twenty-four-hour emergency care with a newly added ‘fast track system’ (moving patients with non-life threatening illness or injury to a different location within the hospital to be seen faster by a provider), obstetrics, gynecology, inpatient and outpatient surgery, diagnostics, orthopedic (full joint replacements available), endoscopy, as well as in and outpatient physical therapy are just a few of the services provided by MCE.
Medical Center Enterprise has recently earned credentials from the American College of Radiology Designated Lung Cancer Screening, American Heart/Stroke Association/The Joint Commission Acute Stroke Ready Hospital, American College of Cardiology Accredited Chest Pain Center, and MCE was named one of the nation’s top performers on key quality measures by The Joint Commission.
Medical Center Enterprise also owns/operates MCE Medical Group (formerly known as Enterprise Express Care), located at 805 East Lee Street. This clinic includes a Primary Care Clinic (offering same day appointments & Class 2 & 3 flight physicals), as well as Enterprise Cardiology.
