Education

In 2005, Trussville formed its own school system, and Trussville City Schools has since become one of the most highly ranked and regarded systems in Alabama.

The fall of 2008 brought the latest incarnation of Hewitt-Trussville High School, complete with state-of-the-art classroom, athletic and performing arts facilities. In early 2014, residents approved an ad valorem tax for the sole purpose of adding two elementary schools to the Trussville system, one of which will be housed in the historic school that serves as the centerpiece for the Cahaba Project. The second school will accommodate the burgeoning number of children on the south side of the city.
