Many new golf course communities have been created to complement those already here, while other fine neighborhoods surround recreation areas, and schools continue to grow and prosper.
Living in surroundings dominated by a desert climate means an adjustment for many new residents. Vegetation is sparse and varied. There are creosote brush, sage, and mesquite trees on the desert floor, and red-tipped ocotillo, palo verde trees and various cacti at higher elevations.
The four-season playground of Mohave Valley is located in what is generally referred to as the low Sonoran Desert, an area of warm, sunny days, low average relative humidities, no smog, clear skies and scant rainfall. Vegetation is sparse, varying from creosote brush, sage, and mesquite trees (pronounced meh-SKEET) on the desert floor, to red-tipped ocotillo (awk-oh-TEE-oh), the palo verde trees with their brilliant green trunks and beautiful yellow flowers and various cacti at higher elevations.
#Average spring temperatures range from 48°F; to 92°F; summer ranges are 71°F to 108°F; fall ranges are 59°F to 100°F, and typical average winter temperature ranges are 41°F to 68°F. Average annual rainfall is just over 4 inches, with the maximum amount falling in December and January (with an average of just over 1/2-inch each month), and the least in June (0.03-inch average). Based on a 30-year average, the annual total snow, sleet and hail is only 0.1 inch.
