Residents in the two communities make education a high priority in the lives of the area youth. The Snowflake United School District serves the students of Snowflake and Taylor through Highland Primary School (K-3), Taylor Elementary School (K-3), Snowflake Intermediate School (4-6), Taylor Intermediate School (4-6), Snowflake Junior High School (7-8) and Snowflake High School (9-12). In addition, students may attend Navit Courses, a public vocational high school in Snowflake serving almost 400 students in grades nine through 12 annually.

One higher education institution is located within the region, which mainly serves students from Apache and Navajo counties. Northland Pioneer College (NPC) encompasses four campuses and six learning centers located throughout Arizona. The Silver Creek Campus, situated in Snowflake/Taylor, offers 30 degree and certificate programs and more than 8,000 regular session classes each year.

Additional colleges within reach of the state include Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher, Scottsdale Community College, Central Arizona College in Coolidge, Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix and Mesa Community College.

Resources for both students and residents can be found through the Snowflake/Taylor Public Library, located at 418 South 4th West in Snowflake. The library, which serves a population of approximately 10,000, is equipped with a collection consisting of more than 36,000 volumes.
