UA Fort Smith provides students with a wealth of opportunities for academic, cultural and social activities in an atmosphere that focuses on preparing for real life. With nearly 50 organizations on campus, there are many annual traditions and an array of fun things to do. The Season of Entertainment features national tours of Broadway musicals such as Cats and Rent, as well as top entertainers like Lonestar, Randy Travis and Jo Dee Messina. The UA Fort Smith Lions compete in NJCAA baseball, women’s volleyball, men and women’s basketball, tennis, and golf.

UA Fort Smith offers hands-on, applied learning through innovative programs. Students at UA Fort Smith find a variety of educational opportunities including master’s degrees (offered through the University Center, a partnership with UA Fort Smith and selected universities), bachelor’s and associate degrees as well as technical certificates and certificates of proficiency.

The university offers a wide selection of alternate delivery methods to meet the growing needs of a diverse student population, including email, Web telecourses, evening and weekend courses, interactive video, and distance-education options. The Pendergraft Health Sciences Center provides students the opportunity to acquire knowledge through state-of-the-art simulation, featuring an operating dental hygiene clinic as well as nursing, surgical technology, sonography and radiography labs.

UA Fort Smith is the first in the nation to offer the history/historical interpretation degree. Students develop interpretation skills through studies on campus and at the Fort Smith Historical Site, working under a former interpreter for the National Park Service. UA Fort Smith’s campus is an award-winning and nationally recognized arboretum that features 19 major buildings and the Donald W. Reynolds Plaza, Tower and Campus Green. The Stubblefield Center is a premier 3,100-seat venue for concerts, athletics and feature events.

Through internships and other hands-on programs, students gain familiarity with area businesses and corporations, accumulating wisdom and making contacts that serve them throughout their careers. When you choose UA Fort Smith, you choose your future.

Along with US Fort Smith – the state’s fifth largest institution of higher education – the Greater Fort Smith Region offers expanding higher education opportunities with two educational centers in Fort Smith and the nearby Carl Albert State College.

Webster University, located in downtown Fort Smith, offers accredited courses in human resources management, computer resources and information management, and business administration for those in pursuit of a master’s degree.

Webster University prides itself on creating a unique educational environment by blending the conveniences of a small university with the opportunities of a large one. Webster is dedicated to academic excellence, innovation in higher education, meeting students’ needs in an ever-changing world and incorporating an international perspective throughout the curriculum.

Students at Webster can choose from programs in the schools of business and technology, communications or education or fine arts and sciences. They can study in the states, Austria, China, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Switzerland and even Thailand.

John Brown University provides non-traditional students innovative advanced degree completion programs in Fort Smith. The advanced program helps working adults with two or more years of college credit complete a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management or Business Information Systems in as little as a year and a half.

Just across the river in Poteau, Oklahoma, is Carl Albert State College (CASC) – a community college founded in 1933. CASC was recently recognized as the sixth fastest growing two-year university in the United States and enrolls approximately 3,300 students annually. Carl Albert offers 28 different academic degree programs.
