One of the first things many newcomers notice is that for a town of just 6,500 people, Morrilton has as much to offer as larger cities. The 20,000 Conway County residents have access to an outstanding school system, including a community college, a medical center and a variety of medical specialists, an abundance of recreational opportunities and a close proximity to the state capitol in Little Rock. Other recreational opportunities abound with the Ozark National Forest bordering Morrilton to the north, and the Ouachita National Forest to the south. The Arkansas River borders the south end of town and river access is available at Cherokee Park.
