Brimming with character, Cotati is home to a lively mix of the old and the new, from rustic barns and historic churches, to a world-renowned Accordion Festival and a summertime farmers market.
It is centrally located in Sonoma County and only 40 miles north of San Francisco. The area is easy to reach since three major highways intersect it: Highway 101, Highway 116 and Old Redwood Highway.
Sonoma County’s smallest city, Cotati is comprised of two square miles and boasts a population of about 7,500. Cotati has a mild climate year-round, thanks to its Northern California location and its close proximity to the Pacific Ocean, about 20 miles to the west.
Summers are dry, with temperatures between 70 and 90 degrees during the day, and cool evenings.
Winters are snow free, with fewer than 20 days of frost in an average year, and temperatures ranging in the 50s. The average rainfall per year is 30 inches.
