Parks & Recreation

Residents of Davis enjoy an active lifestyle, and it’s no wonder—for most of the year, Davis enjoys sunny skies and moderate temperatures, and with more than 521 acres of parks, scenic greenbelts and open spaces, the city is ideal for outdoor recreation.

Recreational amenities in Davis offer something for everyone. There are lighted paths for walking and biking, parks, football, baseball and soccer fields, pools, picnic areas and golf courses. There is also a skate park, a dog park, lighted tennis courts and batting cages. Open spaces and natural habitat areas are also abundant, following Davis’ commitment to the environment. There are more than 30,000 publicly maintained trees providing shade and beauty.

The Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area consists of more than 2,500 acres of wetlands providing habitat for thousands of waterfowl.

The UC Davis Arboretum occupies about 100 acres along the banks of Putah Creek and extends two miles over the south side of the UC Davis campus. This “living museum” is host to more than 4,000 varieties of trees and plants.
