Mayor's Letter

Welcome to California’s Spa City! Positive energy abounds in Desert Hot Springs. We are a beautiful city of hot water spas and resorts nestled in the foothills of Joshua Tree National Park. Built over one of the world’s finest natural hot mineral water aquifers, Desert Hot Springs boasts pure and delicious, award-winning municipal drinking water; clean air; and magnificent views of the San Jacinto and San Gorgonio mountains. Our city draws people from all over the world who return annually to enjoy the restorative properties of the mineral waters found in small boutique spas throughout Desert Hot Springs.

We invite you to enjoy one of the only places on earth with sparkling, natural hot mineral waters enjoyed by tourists and locals alike. A spa destination city, Desert Hot Springs boasts over 40 healing resorts where you will find all of the most popular, relaxing treatments. Choose the style that suits your fancy from mid-century modern, bed and breakfast, Moroccan, restored hacienda, classic, causal, and clothing optional.

Cabot’s Pueblo Museum

Experience the history at our must-see desert treasure Cabot’s Pueblo Museum. Built by hand over many years by Cabot Yerxa, this California historical landmark is now a 35-room rustic “castle.” Using the architecture of the Hopi Indians to create this pueblo, the multi-level house features 150 windows and 65 doors each artistically rendered by Cabot. The Museum features a Pueblo Art Gallery, a book store and the Desert Hot Springs Visitor Center. Also on the property is a 43-foot tall Indian monument originally carved by artist Peter Toth from a 750-year old redwood as a tribute to Cabot’s Lakota friends.

We hope to see you soon in our vibrant and friendly city.

Sincerely,

Yvonne Parks
