Desert Hot Springs supports a wide array of businesses and industry and has renewed its commitment to supporting and developing business interests.
The City of Desert Hot Springs’ service industry experienced a 26.6 percent growth rate through 2006, and a growth of 23.8 percent countywide in the government sector is projected. In retail trades, growth is projected at 21.6 percent. Further growth is expected in construction and new technology. Land for industrial use is allocated south of Hacienda Boulevard and east of Little Morongo Road.
The surrounding Coachella Valley supports an agri-business complex (which includes growers, harvesters, processors, shippers and sales organizations) that produces nearly a half-billion dollars for the area’s economy annually. A variety of support services has also grown, and the overall industry has generated valuable secondary economic benefits for the entire community.
