Chamber Welcome

Martinez is a town rich in history and amenities. We have the convenience of accessibility from Highways 680 and 4, several shopping districts and many unique and historical points of interest. John Muir, America’s most famous naturalist and conservationist lived here and his home is now the John Muir National Historic Site and open for tours. As Joe DiMaggio was born here, our youth baseball fields are named for him and we are home to the Joltin’ Joe boat that New York Yankees fans gave him in 1949 that has since been restored. The Alhambra Valley provides outstanding hiking and bike trails that curve through scenic views and our natural watershed. More than a dozen parks including Waterfront Park and an award winning aquatic center are here, offering an abundance of outdoor places for families to play. Antique shops are not hard to find downtown and free Wi-Fi can help your productivity while dining on one of many outdoor restaurant patios.

The Martinez Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Center is here to assist businesses, citizens, and visitors with direction. We provide a hub next to the AMTRAK station for visitors to learn about famous residents, purchase County Connection bus tickets, and get suggestions of where to stay, what to visit, and who to do business with. As Martinez is the county seat, jurors often stop by for recommendations for a quick and tasty lunch. In the business community, we foster opportunities for collaboration, partnerships, networking, professional growth, and education. We also support our businesses and citizens by hosting the annual State of the City Breakfast and a Citizen of the Year banquet.

Join us at our signature event and family focused King of the County BBQ Challenge & Music Festival held over Father’s Day weekend at the Waterfront Park. In September we celebrate “Martinez…birthplace of the Martini” with the elegant Martinis on the Plaza Gala under the stars, around the stunning Ygnacio Plaza fountain, and in front of City Hall.

The Martinez Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau welcome you.
