Location and Transportation

Location is among the Patterson-Westley area’s greatest assets. These quaint communities are nestled within the northwestern San Joaquin Valley, within beautiful Stanislaus County. Its position in the Modesto metropolitan area places it conveniently along the I-5 corridor, which connects the two communities to many of California’s major cities. Downtown Modesto is a short 16-mile drive, while Livermore is 45 miles away and San Francisco approximately 90 miles.

The area is also served by Highway 33, which runs through the heart of both communities, as well as a variety of local thoroughfares that make getting around town a breeze. For those looking to utilize local public transit options, Stanislaus Regional Transit (StaRT) operates fixed-route bus service in Patterson and Westley, along with the Patterson Dial-A-Ride service. Riders take advantage of StaRT to travel throughout town and to surrounding cities where transferring to other transit operators (such as Modesto Area Express, Ceres Area Transit, the Bus Line Service of Turlock, the Riverbank/Oakdale Transit Authority and others) is available at no cost.

Flight service is available through the Modesto City-County Airport. While the airport’s primary activity is general aviation, it does offer leisure charter service to resorts in Nevada and daily roundtrip flights to San Francisco through United Airlines’ SkyWest. Additional transportation outlets in the Patterson-Westley area include the California Northern Railroad (CFNR) and ports in Stockton and Oakland, all of which serve the business and industrial sectors of the area.

Thanks to its location and the availability of convenient transportation options, getting around the Patterson-Westley area is an easy task.
