The City of Port Hueneme, home to more than 22,200 residents, is located on the vast Oxnard plain, about 60 miles northwest of Los Angeles and 50 miles south of Santa Barbara, right on the beautiful Southern California Coast, where warm breezes play along the coastline.

U.S. Highway 101 and Highway 1 traverse within five miles of Port Hueneme, providing important transportation links to metropolitan Los Angeles.
Port Hueneme is home to the only deep-water commercial harbor between
Los Angeles and San Francisco with U.S. Customs Port of Entry and Foreign Trade Zone designation. Pleasure craft may dock at the Channel Islands Small Craft Harbor within one mile of Port Hueneme or the Ventura Harbor six to seven miles away.
In neighboring Oxnard, Metrolink commuter trains provide service connections to the Ventura County mass transportation system and the Los Angeles Metrorail system. Amtrak passenger rail service throughout the continental U.S. is available as well.
Public bus service is available through VISTA and South Coast Area Transit while Western Greyhound operates out of the Transportation Center in neighboring Oxnard.
For air travelers Oxnard Airport, only three miles from Port Hueneme, offers commuter service, charter planes, and helicopter transport. The modern facilities feature a 6,000-foot runway to accommodate even larger aircraft. In addition, three major airports are located within 90 miles of Port Hueneme. Santa Barbara (45 minutes), Burbank (65 minutes), and Los Angeles International Airports (75 minutes) are all available to serve travelers with hundreds of continental and intercontinental connections daily.
