The Historic Preservation Commission was established in 2003, by Municipal Ordinance No. 831, to develop a program to provide a way to identify certain structures and sites which represent eras, events, or persons important in the City’s cultural, archaeological, social, economic, architectural, and/or political history for the purpose of encouraging the preservation, improvement, and promotion of our City’s treasured properties for future generations. There are currently 55 such designated properties in Rancho Mirage. To view an up-to-date list and to receive more information about this important commission, visit or attend a commission meeting, scheduled monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. at City Hall.
