Sherman Oaks is served by District C of the Los Angeles Unified School District. There are five elementary schools and four junior and senior high schools. There are also several private and parochial schools.

The Center for Aging at Sherman Oaks hospital is designed to help seniors, caregivers and medical professionals deal with changes due to aging through diagnosis and management of geriatric syndromes, information, referral and support services.
