CHAMBER EVENTS & PROGRAMS

Winter Gala

The Community Recognition Awards Gala (Winter Gala) is a celebration presented by the Chamber that brings together family, friends and members of the business community to recognize leading citizens for their outstanding contributions to the community. At the gala, individuals are recognized in the following areas: Ambassador, Business, Educator, Emerging Youth Leader, Entrepreneur, Professional, Male & Female Citizen and Organization of the Year. In November, the membership nominates individuals in the community for the awards mentioned above and a nominating committee selects the final winners.

State of the City Event
(March)
Once a year, the City of Tracy addresses the business community with upcoming projects and developments at the State of the City Luncheon. City staff such as the Mayor and others take part in this lunch to inform business owners of the progress of current city projects and to discuss the growth of the city. Members are encouraged to attend this event to become informed of city advances as well as to network with other businesses in the community.

Real Estate & Development (RED) Tour of the City
(April)
In an effort to showcase the new residential and commercial development occurring in Tracy, the Chamber has developed the Tour of the City, Real Estate & Development Luncheon event. At this event, participants are given a guided tour of the city with highlights on residential and commercial projects. After the tour, participants enjoy a luncheon with guest speakers who provide an update on the state of the economy nationally and locally as well as an economic development update on Tracy. Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber.

Leadership Tracy
(May-November)
The goal of Leadership Tracy is to expand the leadership skills of residents and business owners by providing them with the opportunity to participate in interactive exercises that will increase their knowledge and influence in the community. Leadership Tracy is an educational forum in which participants will look at all the integral components of a city and have the opportunity to understand how to get involved in each area. Participants will have access to influential leaders in Tracy and will be able to make connections with other members who are impacting the community.

Spring Golf Tournament
(May)
The Annual Spring Golf Tournament is a great opportunity for members to let loose and have genuine fun. Members have the opportunity to form teams as well as to sponsor holes to obtain advertising benefits. The golf tournament is an all-day event that concludes with awards, a dinner and raffle.

4th of July Day In the Park
Held on July 4 at Lincoln Park
A long standing tradition in Tracy has been the annual 4th of July Day in the Park family celebration presented by the Chamber. The day begins with a hot air balloon lift-off at dawn and pancake breakfast in Lincoln Park. The Downtown Parade begins at 1 p.m. at 6th and Central. Music and opening festivities begin at noon with something for everyone: children’s activities, arts and crafts, commercial and food vendors and entertainment fill the day. In the evening the festivities move to the Peter B. Kyne football field (Tracy High across the street from the park) for more entertainment, music and a spectacular fireworks display after dusk.

Ambassadors Group
The Ambassador Group meets once a month to generate new member leads, maintain member retention and encourage networking among members, plan monthly mixers and volunteer to participate at Chamber events. Ambassadors also act as mentors for new members to help them become familiar with the Chamber and its members. Meets at 8:30 a.m. every first Tuesday of the month at the Chamber.

Hispanic Business Group
The Tracy Chamber Hispanic Business Group is committed to providing support, education and networking opportunities to Hispanic business owners. The organization is also dedicated to bridging the gap between business and Latino culture. The Hispanic Business Group aims to connect non-Hispanic businesses to the Hispanic market. The group also annually hosts a scholarship dinner where they give out $500 scholarships to students as well as award Hispanic leaders who have made an impact on the Hispanic community. Meets at 12:30 p.m. every first Tuesday of each month at the Chamber.

Hire Me First Internship Program
The Hire Me First Program is facilitated by the Tracy Chamber of Commerce in partnership with several agencies including The City of Tracy, Tracy Unified School District, San Joaquin County WorkNet, San Joaquin County Office of Education, Tracy Learning Center and San Joaquin County United Way. The Hire Me First program provides an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors in Tracy to receive training that will give them skills to assist them in job seeking and job retention.

Students participating in the program have the opportunity to attend job readiness workshops, mock interviews and participate in an internship or job shadow. Through job readiness workshops students learn essential job seeking skills such as how to properly fill out an application and create a quality resume. Students are also educated about employer expectations. Students who participate in internships acquire transferable skills, experience in a field of their choosing and references that are essential when seeking employment.

Through the Hire Me First Program students are connected with businesses in our community that may be potential employers. The Hire Me First Program also benefits local employers as it creates more employable youth in our community. For more information about this Chamber program, call (209) 835-2131.
