Chabot College

The New Haven Unified School District includes Union City and part of south Hayward, and has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students with a diverse student population, which is 75% minority. All New Haven schools have been recognized as "Distinguished Schools" by the state of California and have received five federal "Blue Ribbon" awards. The district’s motto of equality, stability, and quality symbolizes their commitment to top-notch education for all students.

There are many community colleges in the area that provide close, affordable preparatory and adult learning opportunities. Chabot College is a public comprehensive community college that prepares students to succeed in their education, progress in the workplace, and engage in the civic and cultural life of the global community. Chabot offers associate degrees and certificates. Ohlone Community College District serves the community by offering instruction for basic skills, career entry, university transfer, economic development, and personal enrichment. Ohlone’s 300 plus acre campus offers a peaceful and aesthetically pleasing learning environment.

Union City is also very close to some of the best and most renowned educational institutions in America, including Cal State University East Bay, San Jose State University, University of California at Berkeley, and Stanford University. These educational resources are a big reason why the Union City area will continue to produce and attract some of the nation’s brightest minds.
