Getting Around Town
Located in Pueblo County, Pueblo West enjoys convenient access to both commercial centers and recreational areas. It is situated along the southern edge of the Colorado’s major growth corridor, approximately seven miles west of the city of Pueblo.
The community, with inclusions, contains about 27,000 acres or 48 square miles of contiguous land, which is made up of residential areas, commercial and industrial centers, and a large amount of natural lands. Pueblo West is located immediately north of the Pueblo Dam and Reservoir, built on the Arkansas River, which receives approximately 1500 visitors a day.
Pueblo West is bisected by U.S. Highway 50, which runs east to west, and Interstate Highway 25 on its eastern border is the major route north and south to Colorado Springs, Denver and Santa Fe.
The Union Pacific, Southern Pacific, Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroads have tracks conveniently located in areas adjacent to Pueblo West with a rail spur into the Industrial Park located in the Northeast Quadrant
Pueblo Memorial Airport, originally the Pueblo Army Base, offers non-stop service to Denver twice daily, as well as limited charter services. The airport is located on Highway 50, 10 miles east of I-25. The Colorado Springs Airport is the region’s most travelled and is an easy 45 minute drive away.
