Life at its Best
Las Animas County residents own approximately 4,500 homes and nearly 60 percent of the people in the area live in their own house. Trinidad’s neighborhoods, meanwhile, serve as good examples of the beautiful, safe and comfortable communities found throughout Las Animas County.
Predominantly designed with a Victorian theme, Trinidad’s neighborhoods range from classic models that have housed families for years, to new subdivisions. Two additional residential areas are currently under construction and will provide more than 1,700 new homes. The most notable development is Cougar Canyon, the region’s first master planned community, boasting a championship Nicklaus Design golf course as its centerpiece. The 1,500 acre community will have approximately 1,600 single family home sites, 140 townhomes, resort hotel, spa, comprehensive indoor and outdoor fitness facilities, all at price points far below that of comparable communities. The championship golf course is a 7,700-yard link-style course, enhanced by generous natural open space, and inviting water features set in the valley floor, while the custom home sites are perched above on adjacent mesas, affording excellent views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and nearby Fisher’s Peak.
With a host of community living options including apartments and condominiums, Las Animas County has a living solution to meet any need, budget and preference.
