TOWN GOVERNMENT
The Town of Fairfield is governed by a three-member Board of Selectmen, with the First Selectman serving as the chief executive and administrative officer. In November 2007, the selectmen began to serve four-year terms. The Representative Town Meeting (RTM) is the legislative branch, and members representing the 10 voting districts are elected to two-year terms.
