MidState Medical Center is a 130-bed community hospital in Meriden serving the area for over 100 years. An extensive list of services coupled with high-tech equipment and skilled medical professionals makes for the perfect healthcare equation. The Emergency Department at MidState is equipped with several distinct rooms for more focused types of care all encompassed in an expansive 9,600-square-foot facility. The Family Birthing Center caters to mothers, newborns and their families. The Cancer Center offers a complete package of services from diagnosis to rehabilitation. Other departments include the Heart Center, Balance and Hearing Institute, Behavioral Health, Diabetes & Nutrition Center, Digestive Health, Sleep Care, Spine and Pain Institute, Stroke Center, Hospice and more.

Gaylord Hospital, located in Wallingford, is a 109-bed facility providing long-term care to its patients addressing acute and chronic illnesses. Major care programs include brain injury, neurological rehabilitation, orthopedics, pulmonary, sleep medicine, spinal cord injury and stroke. Gaylord Hospital has been a part of the town for over 100 years.

The Masonic Healthcare Center is a 568-bed facility, specializing in geriatric care. The Veterans Administration Medical Center in West Haven is dedicated to caring for the veteran population. In both Wallingford and North Haven abundant public health programs exist to supplement care. The Visiting Nurse Association of Wallingford provides home, palliative, skilled nursing and hospice care; physical, occupational and speech therapy; social work; mental health; nutritional care; Alzheimer’s, bereavement, adolescent, family, child and individual counseling; day care; the Gate Keepers’ Program, immunization program, parenting workshops, general medical screenings and immunizations, children’s clinics and support groups.

The Hospital of Saint Raphael in New Haven is also affiliated with the Yale University Medical School serving as a teaching hospital. This over 500-bed facility is comprised of several specialty departments. The Bone and Joint Center was recently added to maintain its outstanding reputation for joint replacements and other orthopedic procedures and treatments. The comprehensive cardiac and vascular department of Saint Raphael Hospital provides an extensive range of services for patients. The Father Michael J. Saint Raphael Hospital specializes in a range of different types of surgery and use the most state-of the-art equipment to assist seniors. Yale-New Haven Hospital sets the bar high as the chief teaching hospital for the Yale School of Medicine. This over 940-bed hospital serves the people of New Haven and the surrounding communities. The hospital general and specialized surgery, cancer and cardiac treatment, a maternity ward, neurosciences, the list goes on. Emergency care is designated to a level-1 trauma facility. Within the confines of Yale-New Haven Hospital, the 201-bed Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital provides care geared specifically toward younger patients. The 76-bed Yale-New Haven Psychiatric Hospital offers inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient services for children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics dealing with mental illness or substance abuse issues.
