Expanding Cultural Horizons
The Quiet Resorts is a relaxed, refined, and cultured area, which offers a wide range of entertainment and artistic diversion. Inspired by the beautiful scenery, many artists call the Bethany-Fenwick area home. Shops and galleries dot main streets and side roads of the local towns, offering some of the best souvenirs available.
Local theater groups in Ocean View, and nearby Rehoboth Beach and Georgetown offer opportunities to not just see plays, but to be a part of them. Each summer the Carl M. Freeman Foundation offers outdoor professional theater and musical groups free to the community. The newly renovated bandstand on the boardwalk in Bethany also offers a summer full of music and programs for all ages and tastes.
With such a rich history, the Bethany-Fenwick area has numerous museums dedicated to its prolific past. Most notable are the Fenwick Island DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum, which explores the maritime history along the ports of the Delaware and Chesapeake Bays, an the Indian River Life-Saving Station observation tower in Lewes, as well as regional attractions within close proximity to Bethany-Fenwick.
