The brick-lined sidewalks in The Circle are a central part of life in Georgetown, and both residents and visitors rely on the shopping and dining opportunities afforded there. The town is brimming with quaint shops, and has become a destination for antique and other specialty shoppers. A host of shops, restaurants and services are conveniently located, and offer a wide array of one-of-a-kind treasures and dining choices. The offerings continue to expand as the town grows.

In addition to its historic sites, Georgetown has numerous recreational diversions and events.

Museums include the Georgetown Train Station, the Nutter D. Marvel Carriage Museum, the Treasures of the Sea Exhibit and the Elsie Williams Doll Collection. The Delaware Aviation Museum has just opened at the Sussex County Airport.

Outdoor attractions in Georgetown include the Trees of the States garden (a collection of trees from all 50 states) and golfing at Sussex Pines, Sports at the Beach, Georgetown Little League fields, Bedford Street Park and Delaware Tech amenities.
