The bright community of Titusville serves a growing population of more than 43,000, offering residents a lifestyle that is second to none. Titusville was founded in 1868, in what was then Sand Point, by Confederate Colonel Henry Theodore Titus. Titus built the first hotel, The Titus House, and granted land for development of the community. The Titusville name came about in 1873, with incorporation following several years later in 1887.


Students are afforded an excellent public school system, North Brevard Public Schools District, which is comprised of nine elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools.

Alternatives to public schooling can be found in Titusville, with St. Theresa Catholic School offering private education for grades pre-K through eighth. Additionally, Brevard Community College in Titusville and the University of Central Florida in nearby Cocoa provide for high-quality institutions of higher learning.

North Brevard and its surrounding communities are provided with top-notch healthcare through Titusville-based Parrish Medical Center.

The 210-bed public, acute-care hospital has been acknowledged by a handful of national accrediting organizations and is also the first hospital in Central Florida to earn a JCAHO Gold Seal of Approval. Furthermore, PMC hails as the first hospital in the country to earn the Discovery Award for exemplary patient care.


The Titusville area is home to a diverse range of attractions that are sure to meet any and every interest.

The area’s main points of interest include Titusville’s Historic Downtown area, lined with unique shops and popular dining establishments; the Titusville Playhouse, located at the Emma Parish Theatre, which provides six major theatrical productions each year; the U.S. Space Walk of Fame and Museum, the first and only site of its kind in the country to honor America’s astronauts and those who played a large part in the nation’s success in space exploration; and the renowned Kennedy Space Center, where patrons can partake in tours of the grounds, meet astronauts, train in space simulators and view rocket launchings.


Other notable sites not to be missed are the Canaveral National Seashore, spanning 24 miles of undeveloped beach; the 140,000 acres of Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge; and the area’s newest attraction, the American Police Hall of Fame.
