A Partnership for the Future

Regarded in the antiquing community as a haven for one-of-a-kind collectables, downtown Arcadia is home to many locally-owned antique shops. Nearly 20 unique stores line Oak Street between Orange and Brevard, making downtown Arcadia a favorite among window-shoppers and hard-core collectors alike.

The downtown buildings’ classic brick façades offer a welcoming atmosphere to all visitors, including those not in search of antiques. Privately-owned businesses such as the Hot Fudge Shoppe, Debbie’s sports cards and collectables store, The Goodie Basket and Robbin’s Nest are among the many other reasons why Arcadia continues to draw visitors to DeSoto County.

The DeSoto Chamber of Commerce represents more than 250 community businesses, and works to promote and enhance commercial vitality throughout the area. Major industries in the area also include a number of agriculture-based enterprises. Cattle and citrus fruits have long been a core industry in DeSoto County, and are sure to be an important part of all future growth the community experiences.
