Florida Hospital East Orlando is the primary healthcare provider for the East Orlando community. The hospital recently completed a 200,000 square-foot, $80 million expansion project. The new patient tower allows for more outpatient services on the hospital campus, features 80 new private patient rooms and an innovative hospital design, created to enhance the patient experience.

East Orlando is also home to several urgent care options, including Florida Hospital’s Centra Care, After Hours Pediatrics, Solantic and the new miniER. These facilities are often the first stop for many patients in need of a physical or a variety of urgent needs that don’t warrant a trip to the emergency room.

East Orange County is also home to a new PCAN clinic. A partnership between Orange County Government, primary healthcare centers, community agencies, hospitals and other social services, the Primary Care Access Network, improves the access, quality and coordination of services for the underinsured and uninsured populations of Orange County. Three sites are available in East Orlando, including one near Waterford Lakes, another in Azalea Park, as well as one near the Orlando International Airport.

In addition, East Orlando residents have access to a large network of physicians in private practice. There are over 200 primary care and specialty physicians in the area. With such a vast array of resources, residents should have no problem locating a doctor to serve their needs.
