The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce puts members first every step of the way. Businesses large or small know they can count on the Chamber to provide only the best when it comes to programming and support. Providing innovative programs and numerous networking opportunities, the Chamber is the No. 1 resource for successful entrepreneurs and businesses.
“The Chamber, much like our community, is made up of predominantly small businesses,” says Brittany Lamont, Vice President of the Chamber. “Through programming such as Shumaker Chamber University, we offer educational workshops that address topics our members are dealing with daily. We also host the annual Frank G. Berlin, Sr. Small Business Awards, which recognizes local small businesses in six categories.”
For small businesses just getting started or looking to grow, the Chamber has programs tailored specifically to meet their needs.
“We partner with SCORE to provide free business counseling to startups,” says Lamont. “Our benefits,
such as the press release tool and community calendar, allow our members to get the word out on what is happening in their businesses.”
Creating economic vitality for members and the community drives home the meaning of the Chamber’s new marketing mission: “Connect. Promote. Support.”
“Every aspect of our mission falls into those three things. As a Chamber, we offer various ways for
members to connect, from large events to small gatherings,” says Lamont. “We promote members
on our social media, website and tools offered through Chamber membership. Support is the economic development arm of our Chamber,” says Lamont. “We work to support our member businesses
and the Sarasota community.”
