Location and Transportation

Nestled within the center of Central Florida are the communities of Oviedo and Winter Springs, a part of Seminole County — an area that is dubbed “Florida’s Natural Choice” due to its abundance of preserved outdoor space and natural resources. Surrounding communities include Casselberry, Altamonte Springs, Longwood, Lake Mary and Sanford, along with the unincorporated areas of Chuluota, Geneva and East Orange County.

With its location just minutes outside of the always-bustling city of Orlando, commuting residents and visitors take pleasure in the area’s lack of congestion and ease of travel. Local thoroughfares make getting around town a cinch, and nearby Interstates 4 and 95 offer efficient regional travel. LYNX (Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority) operates hundreds of buses and 65 bus routes in the region, offering a cost-effective public transportation option. The area also offers several rental car agencies, and nearby Sanford’s Amtrak station provides nonstop Auto Train service to the Washington D.C. area. The Auto Train conveniently accommodates both passengers and their vehicles.

When it comes to reaching destinations quickly, travelers utilize the region’s three international airports. Just a few miles outside of the Oviedo-Winter Springs area is Orlando-Sanford International Airport, where passengers have access to four airlines and three international charters offering travel to numerous destinations across the globe. Only about a 20-minute drive from the area via S.R. 417 and S.R. 528 is Orlando International Airport, and approximately 46 miles away is Daytona Beach International Airport.
