Location and Transportation

Southeast Volusia County is served by several airports, including Daytona Beach International Airport, located 20 miles north; Orlando International Airport, located 70 miles west of New Smyrna Beach; the New Smyrna Beach Municipal Airport, which has lighted runways to accommodate corporate and private aircraft; and Edgewater’s Massey Ranch Airpark, a paved, lighted airport accepting single- and twin-engine planes.

The area is easily accessible from several major highways. Interstate 95 runs north and south close to the east coast, and drivers need to exit at 249 and drive east on State Road 44 to the beach. Coming from Central Florida, take I-4 east to I-95 south, again exiting at 84A and heading east to the beach. U.S. 1 is a major mainland thoroughfare running north and south.
