Public LIbraries

A branch of the Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library System is located in the heart of Ruskin at One Dickman Drive S.E., phone 671-7638. The Ruskin Library is home to more than 54,000 volumes, with online access to books and materials throughout the county library system. Special collections include best sellers, children’s picture books, large print editions, books on tape, a variety of videotapes, and books specializing in the Spanish language as well as magazines, newspapers and paperback editions. The library offers story time and other programs for children. Adults enjoy monthly discussions on popular books.

The library is more than books, in the information age. Patrons can register for free e-mail access through Suncoast Free-Net, surf the Internet, check the value of stocks and other investments, look at the latest rating of consumer products, find out about local clubs and organizations, and review Florida law. A 40,000-square-foot South Hillsborough Regional Library is in SouthShore’s future. This facility is planned for the County’s Community Investment Tax funding cycle beginning 2003. graphic

Sun City Center also has two libraries, one located on North Pebble Beach Boulevard next door to the Community Association and Security Patrol, and a private library located inside Kings Point. Both libraries have thousands of volumes that include one of the largest selections of LARGE PRINT books in the county. The North Pebble Beach library has a $100,000 annual budget from the Community Association and is an inter-loan facility with the Hillsborough County Library System.

In Riverview, the public library is located on Riverview Drive just off highway 301.
