Shopping, Dining and Lodging

Residents of Sun City Center can find just about everything they need right in town, and what’s not in town is never too far away.

Dozens of retail outlets throughout the community, like those found in the Sun City Center Plaza, offer area residents the convenience of nearby banks, clothing stores, financial planning offices, grocery stores, healthcare products, Realtors, insurance agents, floral shops and gift stores. Directly across U.S. Highway 301 from King’s Crossing Shopping Center is the 208,000-square-foot Walmart Supercenter.

Nearby towns offer an abundance of shopping opportunities for Sun City Center residents. The Sun Point Shopping Center is five minutes away in Ruskin, and the Apollo Beach Plaza in Apollo Beach is approximately 20 minutes away. Of course, Tampa has a wealth of shopping and is within a half-hour drive.

Dining is always a memorable experience in Sun City Center, thanks to the variety of restaurants and eateries, such as The Sandpiper Grille, The Sunshine Cafe, Denny’s, Beef O’Brady’s, Subway, Pizza Hut, China Chen Restaurant, China Wok, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Old Castle Tavern, Sun City Café, Bob Evans, Seafood Dive, Bella Cucina, Sonny’s BBQ and Hungry Howie’s. There are also a number of other fine dining establishments and national chains in and around Sun City Center.

Lodging is available for visitors to the Sun City Center area, including the Comfort Inn. Remodeled in 2001, the Ruskin Inn features an outdoor pool, conference room and business center.

The Resort at Little Harbor is also nearby. Located on the shores of Old Tampa Bay, the low-rise complex is nestled on an island between Tampa Bay and the semitropical wetlands. It offers boating, fishing and rental accommodations along with the Sunset Grille and Tiki Bar overlooking Tampa Bay and the skyline of St. Petersburg.
