Location and Transportation

welcome sign

Lee County’s convenient location makes travel in and out of the area simple. Southwest Georgia Regional Airport is located just 15 minutes away, providing eight daily commuter service flights to and from Atlanta.

A modern highway infrastructure keeps traffic flowing. U.S. Highway 82/520 W is a four-lane divided highway that runs unimpeded through Alabama and Mississippi all the way to Alamogordo, New Mexico. Going north, U.S. 82 connects with I-85, which leads directly to Atlanta.

U.S. Highway 19 runs north/south, and also connects Lee County with Atlanta. Interstate 75 is approximately 30 minutes from Leesburg, and has accessible four-lane access.

Lee County is served by the following ports:
Brunswick, GA — 183 miles
Savannah, GA — 207 miles
Jacksonville, Fl — 200 miles
Bainbridge, GA (Inland) — 68 miles
