Golf

Golfing enthusiasts delight in a variety of places to hit the links and improve golf skills within the community:

Oak Meadows Golf Course & Practice Range

Formerly the private Elmhurst C.C., this traditional classic is one of the most historically significant courses in the Chicago area. Oak Meadow’s tree-lined fairways hosted the 1941 Chicago Open, where Ben Hogan won over Sam Snead, Craig Wood, and other golf legends.

There have been many course updates and improvements since 1941, but today’s golfer can play Oak Meadows and test their skill on the same layout as golf’s past champions. Oak Meadows practice range features all-grass tee areas and instruction by PGA and LPGA professionals.

Footgolf was recently added to the golf course and is now available every day after 2 p.m. The outdoor practice range has more than 50 hitting stations with both natural or synthetic grass mats and target greens.

There is also a short-game area with a 10,000-square-foot putting green, 5,000-square-foot chipping green and practice sand bunker. During the winter months, golfers can keep their game on par in the facility’s heated, indoor Golf Dome.
