Aurora Health and Beauty

walking

Aurora is a biker, hiker, and jogger’s nirvana, for it has dozens of splendid, safe trails that travel for mile after mile throughout the region. By far the largest is the section of the Fox River Trail and its extension trails that cross the Fox River Valley. It’s a splendid 36-mile, smooth asphalt trail running from Aurora to Crystal Lake, paralleling the Fox River, and revealing incredible scenery on a safe, comfortable journey. The Fox River Trail East is a three-mile asphalt trail along the Fox River connecting to the Illinois Prairie Path, whose 16-mile Red Oak Loop includes the Fox River Trail, the Fox River Trail East, and the Aurora and Batavia branches of the Illinois Prairie Path. The Fox River Trail Oswego is both an off- and on-road Fox River Trail Extension through the Oswego area as it continues north to Montgomery and the Fox River Trail North Aurora.

The Virgil L. Gilman Trail is a 12-mile trail that links Montgomery and Aurora with Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove. There are the Waubonsee Nature Trails, both two-mile hiking and interpretive trails with prairie grasses, native plants and animals on the Waubonsee Community College campus in nearby Sugar Grove.
