Senior Living in the Barrington Area

Services that keep seniors healthy and active!

The Barrington area has an active population of seniors who live independently and have access to the resources and assistance they need. The region offers many appealing senior communities that offer active independent options as well as assisted living and memory care resources. Senior living communities include Alden Estates of Barrington, Autumn Leaves of South Barrington and Crystal Lake, Barrington Horizon Senior Living Community, Eastgate Manor, The Garlands of Barrington, Greencastle of Barrington, Lake Barrington Woods, the new Solana Deer Park community, Silverado Senior Living and Sunrise Assisted Living.

Barrington is also home to one of the most advanced senior resources in the region, the Barrington Area Council on Aging (BACOA). Founded 30 years ago, the Barrington Area Council on Aging exists to promote vibrant, healthy aging by providing activities, education, and support to adults and caregivers.

BACOA believes that aging itself is not a disease, but a natural process of growth and maturation that brings challenges, rewards, and opportunities for the nurture and development of the human spirit.

The Barrington Area Council on Aging strives to become the vital resource for older adults, families and caregivers who seek out information and support as a partner on this journey.

The council on aging can provide assistance in such areas as:

• “A Day Out” day respite program
• Information on housing options or in-home care services
• Meals with Wheels
• Counsel on insurance, benefits and Medicare Part D
• Support, education, activities and programs for seniors and caregivers
