Welcome from the Chamber Board

I was asked to join the Board of the Batavia Chamber of Commerce four years ago, and have had the privilege of serving with a group of dedicated and engaged fellow board members. I have seen many changes take place in the Chamber over the years that I have served, and am excited to begin my term as Chairman to see what the year ahead has in store for us.

My passion is supporting local business owners. In my nine-year tenure as the Manager of the Small Business Development Center at Waubonsee Community College, I have coached thousands of local business owners – many of them in and around Batavia. One thing I believe wholeheartedly is that the strength of an individual business and, in turn, the surrounding community, is reflected in its Chamber.

Many business owners question the benefit of their chamber membership, and I know that every penny counts when you are running a business. I firmly believe that Chamber membership is well worth the investment. There is strength in numbers, as well as in business diversity. By joining and getting involved in your local chamber, you add your voice and your support to those numbers.

The Chamber is here for you, and we need you to be here for us. We want to hear from you, and we pledge to do everything in our power to help make your business, and your community more successful. We strive to meet your needs, regardless of the type of business or organization. We value our tremendous partners, including the City, Main Street, the Park District and School District.

The Chamber is growing, and I urge you to be a part of its growth. Whether you are a home-based solopreneur, a small business, a nonprofit or a large corporation, you can contribute to making Batavia a strong and growing community. We look forward to hearing from you. You can contact me or other board members at
