“Read, think, dream, create”

The Bensenville Community Public Library District strives to be a dynamic community center with services, programs and resources for all ages. From its humble beginnings in 1956, the library district incorporated in 1960 and moved into its present 27,000-square-foot facility in 1978, with an addition in 1999.

Today the library provides meeting rooms, a computer lab, Wi-Fi, study rooms, remote access to printers, robust print and electronic resource collections, e-books, online classes, computer instruction and an array of programs for adults. Special centers for business and career information and a state-of-the-art technology center are designed for local business use.

The newly redesigned youth services area offers a center for early learning, the place where every preschool age child has an opportunity to learn, and where we can inspire imagination, enhance education and nurture families. Structured and informal programs for preschoolers and their families, as well as for school-aged children, are offered all year long. Our Library School Liaison works with all local schools to provide curriculum support and inspire a love of reading.

The library extends itself into the community through partnerships, including the Bensenville Chamber of Commerce, the Bensenville Arts Council, the Bensenville Intergovernmental Group, cable TV programs, homebound delivery and outreach to senior residences.
