Introduction

Beverly Hills/Morgan Park is Chicago's “Village in the City.” This beautiful residential community grew up during the 1860s around the construction of the Rock Island commuter train line, now the Metra. After the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, the villages – which later became the Beverly Hills/Morgan Park neighborhood – rapidly expanded. Many of the city's business and political leaders built homes and mansions along the hill that forms the highest land in Chicago. Now a thriving city neighborhood, Beverly Hills/Morgan Park offers the amenities of suburban living with the excitement of urban lifestyle.
