Shopping

Bloomingdale is home to the shopping enthusiast. Here you’ll find small, cozy boutiques, big-box retailers and Stratford Square Mall, a two-level, regional shopping center located on the west side of Bloomingdale and anchored by Macy’s, Carson Pirie Scott, Sears, Kohl’s, Burlington Coat Factory and the 16-screen Century Theatre.

Destination shopping is fashion forward in Bloomingdale. From national chain stores and popular shops, the route along Bloomingdale’s Army Trail corridor brings shoppers to the busy Bloomingdale Court and Bloomingdale Square Shopping Centers.

Lake Street, flanked by Walgreens and Ace Hardware at Springfield Drive, is the northwestern gateway to Bloomingdale. Farther east is the renown Platt Hill Nursery. East of Bloomingdale Road, Springbrook Shopping Center, home to Caputo’s Fresh Market, on the south side, and Circle Center, on the north, also offer several eating establishments and a variety of retail outlets. From the Meijer store on the north side of Schick, to Stratford Crossing on the west side of Gary, Bloomingdale’s Gary Ave. shopping corridor bustles with shopping and dining opportunities.

Shoppers are sure to applaud big renovations starting to take shape at Stratford Square Mall. Anticipated entrance renovations and streetscape improvements will include the addition of new retail stores, signage and upgraded finishes. Round One, a Los Angeles- and Japan-based 40,000-square-foot entertainment complex offering bowling, billiards, gaming and karaoke is the first of the newest offerings to celebrate its grand opening this fall.
