Yard waste will be collected at curbside. Grass clippings and leaves must be placed in paper yard waste bags specified for this waste. Yard waste stickers must be placed on each bag (1 sticker per bag) and set out at curbside so refuse personnel can visibly see sticker upon pickup. Brush must be cut into lengths of four feet or less. A 50 lb. maximum weight also applies.

Brush must be bundled and tied with brush ties and set out at curbside for pickup.

Approved yard waste stickers and brush ties only.

Yard waste collection will be: Wednesday, April 1 – November 30 at 7:00 a.m., June 1 – August 31 at 6:00 a.m. DO NOT mix garbage with yard waste bags on wet or saturated ground; it is advisable to lay down a protective layer under the bag or bags to protect the bottom from decomposing. For appliances (washers, dryers, refrigerators, etc.) and tires, contact the Rock Island County Waste Management at 1-800-917-1969.

Why Frogs?

Frogs were chosen to celebrate the Centennial because of the early history of the town being developed along the Mississippi River and the abundance of frogs in the low-lying area.
