It was a decade ago that the Geneva Chamber of Commerce funded a committee to develop a tagline for the Chamber of Commerce. That committee created as a slogan, Geneva: A Picture Postcard. It is those suggested postcard images that create a multitude of pictures which represent our community on the banks of the Fox River.
Our chamber produces a series of annual events at which various snapshots would render excellent postcards. It is these individual images that make our residential, corporate and business community so special.
Swedish Days, Geneva Arts Fair, Festival of the Vine, the House Tour and the lighting of the “Great Tree” at the Christmas Walk are a few events presented annually. These are the opportunities that become the glue which binds the residents and visitors together to make a vibrant downtown and add to the essence that makes Geneva a very special and unique community.
Michael Pollan said, “The single greatest lesson the garden teaches, is that our relationship to the planet need not be zero-sum, and that as long as the sun still shines and people still can plan and plant, think and do, we can, if we bother to try, find ways to provide for ourselves without diminishing the world.”
Our downtown businesses and the work of the Chamber of Commerce nurture the soul of our community and provide the activities that form our Geneva Garden. These are the core activities of our community that make Geneva a very special place to live. The events that we attend together and the vibrancy of our business community where we gather, work, play and celebrate create the warmth and the many pictures of our lives.
The Chamber of Commerce encourages you to participate, volunteer, and take pride in our great community. It is our corner of the world and a place in which we as residents and business owners form the images that make Geneva such a beautiful Picture Postcard.
