From the Mayor

Dear Friends,

If ever there was proof that a community does not have to grow geographically in order to improve, Geneva is a perfect example.

When founded in 1835, Geneva’s geographic reach was but a few square blocks. Today, we span approximately 8 square miles. Or, put another way, approximately 5,120 acres.

On these acres of land resides 22,000 residents, 1,000 businesses, a premier school district, world class park district, highly valued library district and an environment that invites, encourages and celebrates participation in every aspect of community life.

We welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors each year by hosting events and festivals designed to showcase Geneva and demonstrate our unmatched hospitality.

Yes, we may be small in size, but we are strong in the areas that matter most – and gaining strength each and every day.

And, while it’s likely that Geneva’s geographic reach may not expand much more, our commitment to sustaining what makes Geneva a great place to live, learn, work, play and raise a family will never waiver.

My best,
Kevin R. Burns
Mayor
