Worship

Geneva is a city that embraces its diversity – a characteristic that is evident in its strong spiritual sector. More than a dozen houses of worship represent an array of denominations in Geneva. Many of these structures were built in the 1800s offering worshipers of today a peephole to the past. The Unitarian Universalist Church, built in 1843, stands as the oldest church in Geneva affording parishioners and visitors a glimpse of the community’s rich heritage. The remarkable architecture of the early churches adds considerably to the historic charm of this lovely riverfront community.

In addition to the programs and services offered through the area’s churches, Geneva is home to numerous branches of well-known and local organizations. These not-for-profit organizations have significantly impacted the community through fundraisers, volunteer opportunities and legislative advocacy as well as by offering access to important resources and information for Geneva residents and businesses.
