Location and Transportation

street

Nestled within DuPage County, a short 23 miles from Chicago’s Loop, Glendale Heights’ location is among one of its greatest assets.

Six interstate highways traverse the region, with four primary roadways located within the Village—Army Trail Road and North Avenue (Route 64) travel east to west, while Glen Ellyn Road and Bloomingdale Road run north to south. Less than one mile from the Village, drivers can access an interchange of the state Route 53/Interstate 290 expressway. In addition, the new I-355 extension offers a supplemental interchange within Glendale Heights at North Avenue.

Public transportation is readily available within minutes of Glendale Heights. Three Metra commuter rail lines are found in the adjacent communities of Wheaton, Glen Ellyn and Roselle—each offering a connection to downtown Chicago and many suburbs in between, as well as a link to Amtrak train services.

Air travel is available through O’Hare International and Midway International airports, both affording numerous flight options to a host of destinations across the world. Businesses in need of corporate aviation have access to West Chicago-based DuPage Airport. The airport is ideally located within 35 minutes of all major suburban business districts and is a designated reliever airport to both O’Hare and Midway.
