HOUSING & ACTIVITY CENTER

Retirement

There are over 3,000 seniors living in the Homer Township area and to help address their housing needs, “Founders Crossing” was created. This living complex consists of 30 units, which are located on a five-acre piece of land on Bell Road. Each unit is approximately 950 square feet and has two bedrooms, one bath, a kitchen/dinette, living room and an attached garage with space for one vehicle.

On the grounds, there is also the “Founders Activity Center,” which has also come to be known as the “Betty Woods Activity Center,” as a tribute to a long-time resident who was very active in the community. Bingo games are held there twice a month, and the 1,800-square-foot space is also used for Township Committee meetings.

There are many resources available to seniors who live in the Homer Glen area. Whether one is looking for housing options, entertainment or simply a place to get a good book, there are plenty of services and facilities around to meet these needs—and more. Will County, Homer Township and Homer Glen all do their part to help meet the needs of seniors who are living in the Village and surrounding area.
