In recent years, health care has taken center stage as a major issue for the country as a whole. After meeting certain qualifications, patients receive free-of-charge care. The comprehensive list of services include consulting and general visits, testing, hospitalizations, surgeries, therapies and medications. The clinic is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with extended hours available the second Wednesday of the month, as well as on Tuesdays for patients needing to pick up prescriptions. Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center

The Joliet community houses the highly rated Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center, a 480-bed campus supplying the region with the finest in comprehensive health care services and programs. As part of a partnership with the University of Illinois at Chicago, the hospital stands as the sole provider of neurosurgical services in the region. It offers an advanced level of cardiac care through the Heart Center and provides unmatched services through the Sister Theresa Cancer Care Center, the Level II Emergency/Trauma Center, the Level II Special Care Nursery and Pediatric ICU, as well as many other centers of excellence.

The hospital recently unveiled a modern, 256,000-square-foot, eight-story patient center featuring 199 all-private patient rooms, expanded critical care units, a floor dedicated to neurosciences, a 350-seat conference center and more. Will County Health Department

The Will County Health Department strives to provide a healthy environment for all residents in the area. Its main office and modern, 33,000-square-foot Community Health Center are each positioned in Joliet, with two branch offices located in University Park and Bolingbrook. As the only Federally Qualified Health Center in the area, it will never deny a patient due to a lack of funds and still manages to aptly serve the entire 847 square miles of Will County. The department’s services, which are available six days a week and two evenings a week, includes everything from general medicine and environmental health to mental health, family health care and women’s services.
