Location and Transportation

The five communities we serve are part of the booming Chicago Southland region, just 30 minutes from Chicago’s bustling Loop. This locality places our five Villages within close reach of the Chicago area’s extensive interstate highway network.

Interstate 57 traverses along the area’s western portion. Commuters can utilize this highway to reach Interstate 80, which runs east-west just north of Matteson. I-80 offers convenient links to interstates 55 and 355 to the west and interstates 294 and 90/94 to the east. Via these highways, commuters have quick access to Chicago and its surrounding suburbs, along with destinations in Wisconsin and northwest Indiana.

A number of further state and local routes wind through the Matteson area—including Lincoln Highway (U.S. 30)—providing expedient travel to community shopping centers, government buildings and places of employment.

The Chicagoland’s extensive public transportation network is an affordable alternative to traveling. Metra commuter rail service efficiently connects the area to Chicago and a multitude of destinations located in its surrounding suburbs. Five stations are situated between Matteson (two stations), University Park, Richton Park, and Olympia Fields, providing service along the Metra Electric Line. Pace suburban bus service offers a connection with these Metra rail stations as well as a host of other stops throughout the area.

Commercial air travel is readily available through two major airports in Chicago. Midway International Airport is an approximately 30-minute drive from the area, while O’Hare International Airport can be accessed in less than one hour. Corporate and private aircraft have the use of several smaller regional airports in the area as well.
