Shopping and Dining

restaurant

While traveling through our five Villages, one will find a full range of retail and dining opportunities. Regional shopping malls are intermixed with convenient strip malls and a variety of freestanding retailers. The selection of restaurants is just as appealing, as the area is home to an eclectic collection of dining establishments.

Olympia Fields and Richton Park offer excellent retail sectors, and Park Forest’s rejuvenated downtown—home to Park Forest Plaza, which is known as the first planned regional shopping mall in the Midwest—continues to draw in more and more shoppers each year. Antiquing is also a cherished pastime in the Chicago Southland.

The Village of Matteson, a regional hub located along I-57, is booming when it comes to shopping and dining. The community is home to a mile-long commercial corridor along Lincoln Highway (U.S. 30), which features approximately 2.2 million square feet of retail space. The 115-acre Lincoln Mall is the centerpiece of this shopping strip. Anchored by two major department stores, the mall is lined with more than 100 specialty stores and restaurants.

Car buyers immediately turn to the 110-acre Matteson Auto Mall for their car buying needs. The mall features a collection of 17 new and used car dealerships as well as auto-related businesses. Serving as one of the area’s largest employers, the Matteson Auto Mall is recognized as the nation’s largest auto mall, featuring such trusted dealers as Miller Chevrolet, Arnie Bauer Cadillac and Sutton Ford. Matteson is also home to the 244-acre Greater Chicago Auto Auction.
