OSF HealthCare

OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center serves as the area’s gateway to health care with emergency services, inpatient and outpatient surgery, a birthing center, rehabilitation, sophisticated diagnostic testing, cardiac care, wellness services and more to support the community’s health journey.

With several OSF HealthCare Medical Group locations, four OSF PromptCare locations and an OSF Urgo urgent care clinic, residents now have more health care options where and when they need it. Residents also have assurances they’re receiving high-quality care and services. For example:

• OSF St. Joseph has Magnet status, which is a reflection of a hospital’s nursing professionalism, teamwork and superiority in patient care. The designation ensures that rigorous standards for nursing excellence are met. Only 401 hospitals out of nearly 6,000 in the U.S. have achieved this status.

• The Birthing Center at OSF St. Joseph provides around-the-clock neonatology care to all newborns with specialists from OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois in Peoria. This added level of expert care allows babies to remain right here instead of being transferred.

• The orthopedics specialists at OSF St. Joseph now provide joint-replacement patients a new option in partial and total knee and total hip replacement surgery – the Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Technology. Patients receive a personalized surgical experience based on their diagnosis and anatomy.

• Some surgical patients also have another option – a minimally invasive alternative to both open surgery and laparoscopy – the da Vinci Surgical System. Major surgery can be performed through the smallest of incisions, which means less pain, a shorter hospital stay and the potential for a better outcome.
